From now through about mid March is one of the better periods where you can catch multiple fish over 25 inches if you hit it right. Find one fish and chances are you've found a bunch. Stay with it, grind out good looking areas, and as Capt. Tricia says....don't get 'boat happy' and run around looking for fish. Just fish!
No strap or weight...just another one of those 'nice trout', too little to mount and too valuable to only catch once.
Let these go, and fish like this go from 'nice' to 'good' and then to 'great'.
Pulling dark tails through the grass when the bite is slow has worked quite well. This day was still cold. Pesky north winds and water temps holding right at 51F. Still, a little sun and they pull right in. You just have to fish for them.
