Here's Dr. Tim down for a change of pace from chasing river trout in Missouri.  His little bone-chartreuse Skitterwalk Jr. drew the most strikes up top today, including this healthy 26" specimen than came off of a grass edge surrounding a sand strip. Other baits that worked were Corkies and an Exude shrimp on a 1/8th jighead. (More on that later)

The weather was awesome all morning and seemed like perfect conditions for a serious feed, but a handful of trout and reds apiece were all we could manage. Everybody we talked to who fished yesterday had similar if not far worse tales.

It's early Spring and traditionally tough, but getting out there and going for it is what it's all about. Cast and they will come. If they don't, well hey, you got to come anyway.
